Joseph Eunkwan Choi is an internationally experienced conductor, music director, and educator whose career has encompassed professional orchestras, youth orchestras, educational institutions, and guest conducting engagements throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. Recognized for his commitment to artistic excellence and music education, Maestro Choi has devoted his career to developing orchestras, mentoring young musicians, and presenting engaging performances for diverse audiences.
He currently serves as Music Director of the Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra (Illinois), the Maryland Chamber Orchestra, and the Sunnydale Adventist Academy Music Department (Missouri). He is also Assistant Conductor of the Missouri Academy of Music Virtuosi Orchestra in Columbia, Missouri, where he collaborates with internationally renowned conductor Maestro Kirk Trevor.
Throughout more than two decades of conducting, Maestro Choi has led professional and educational ensembles while building programs that emphasize musical growth, artistic collaboration, and community engagement. His conducting career has included performances in major concert halls, international festivals, and collaborations with distinguished orchestras and soloists across multiple continents.
Maestro Choi resides in Centralia, Missouri, with his wife, Angela, a registered nurse and former music educator, and their son, Nathaniel, a violinist and percussionist.
